OCTOBER 15-24

Argentina Itinerary

DAY 1: BUENOS AIRES

Welcome to Buenos Aires, a city of grand boulevards, beautiful old cafés, late-night conversations, and unexpected discoveries. A city with little Parisian elegance, a distinctly Latin American soul, and a rhythm all its own.

After checking into our hotel and settling in, we’ll meet to share an early dinner and get our first taste of the city together.

Then, the evening is yours. Take a stroll, find a charming café, sip a glass of Malbec, or simply let Buenos Aires introduce herself at her own pace.

Our journey begins here. And this is just the beginning.

Meals included: Dinner

DAY 2: BUENOS AIRES

Today, we’ll get to know Buenos Aires through one of its greatest pleasures: food. We’ll wander through San Telmo, one of the city’s oldest and most character-filled neighborhoods, where cobblestone streets, antique shops, historic cafés, and a rich culinary heritage tell the story of old Buenos Aires.

Along the way, we’ll discover the flavors that define the city, tasting our way through local specialties and experiencing the traditions that bring porteño life to the table.

After a little time to recharge, we’ll step into another side of Buenos Aires. Tonight, we’ll have an evening of tango, where music, movement, and a touch of mystery capture the unmistakable spirit of Argentina.

Meals included: Breakfast and lunch

DAY 3: BUENOS AIRES

“Don’t cry for me, Argentina…” Today, we’ll look beyond the grand boulevards and elegant façades to discover the stories that shaped this fascinating city.

Our day begins with a historical tour exploring the life and legacy of Eva Perón, known to the world as Evita. A woman who inspired devotion, controversy, and an enduring place in Argentina’s national story, Evita remains one of the country’s most compelling figures.

As we explore Buenos Aires, we’ll uncover the history, politics, and passions woven into the city’s identity, from its iconic landmarks to the stories that still echo through its streets.

With a delicious lunch along the way, we’ll have time to take it all in, ask questions, and see Buenos Aires through a deeper, more local lens.

Meals Included: Breakfast and lunch

DAY 4: MENDOZA

Today, we say hasta pronto to Buenos Aires and head west to Mendoza, where the Andes rise above sun-soaked vineyards and life moves to a different rhythm.

This afternoon, we’ve arranged something special: a spa afternoon in the vineyards for everyone in our group. Warm waters, soothing rituals, and time to unwind, the perfect way to recharge after our travels.

Consider it your invitation to slow down, settle in, and let Mendoza work its magic. There will be plenty of time for wine, mountains, and memorable meals in the days ahead.

Meals included: Breakfast and dinner.

DAY 5: MENDOZA

Today, we’ll spend the day immersed in Mendoza’s wine country, surrounded by sun-drenched vineyards and the spectacular backdrop of the Andes.

We’ll enjoy a full-day winery experience, discovering the stories, traditions, and craftsmanship behind Argentina’s celebrated wines. Along the way, we’ll get hands-on in the kitchen, preparing food and exploring the flavors that make Argentine cuisine such a natural companion to a good glass of wine.

It’s a day to learn, taste, create, and connect — with the people behind the wines and with one another. No rushing, no checklist, just the pleasure of sharing an experience that brings together two of life’s great joys: good food and good wine.

And as we’ve come to learn, the best memories are often made around the table

Meals included: Breakfast and Lunch

DAY 6: MENDOZA

DAY 7: MENDOZA

Over the next 24 hours, we’ll embrace the spirit of the gaucho — Argentina’s iconic horsemen — and discover a more rustic, deeply rooted side of the country.

The day is yours to enjoy. Saddle up for a horseback ride, head out on a trek through the surrounding landscapes, or find a quiet spot to read and take it all in. In between, we’ll gather outdoors for a traditional asado, where good food and good company are always part of the experience.

As night falls, we’ll settle in by the fireplace, pour another glass of Malbec, and let the stories unfold. No agenda, no rush, just the warmth of the fire and the pleasure of being together in a truly remarkable place.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner

DAY 8: MENDOZA TO BUENOS AIRES

Today, we trade the open landscapes and vineyard views of Mendoza for the irresistible energy of Buenos Aires. After our journey back to the capital, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy.

Consider this your chance to follow your curiosity. Wander through a neighborhood you haven’t explored yet, spend an afternoon among art and architecture, browse independent boutiques, or settle into a sidewalk café and watch the city go by.

We’ll share a curated list of our favorite museums, shops, cafés, and places to eat, so you can discover Buenos Aires at your own pace, with a few local favorites to guide the way.

Whether you’re in the mood for culture, a little shopping, or simply one more leisurely cortado, make the day your own.

Meals included: Breakfast.

DAY 9: BUENOS AIRES

Today, we’ll discover a more creative side of Buenos Aires, where craftsmanship, design, and a distinctly Argentine sense of style come together.

We’ll step inside a renowned leather atelier for a private, behind-the-scenes experience. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to design your very own leather handbag, choosing the details that make it uniquely yours. It’s a chance to meet the artistry behind the finished piece and take home something truly personal, a little piece of Argentina, made by you.

As evening falls, we’ll gather for a rooftop asado, celebrating one of Argentina’s most beloved traditions. Think delicious food, excellent wine, city views, and the kind of conversation that makes you wish the evening would last just a little longer.

A day of creativity, connection, and the pleasure of sharing something special.

Meals included: Breakfast and dinner.

DAY 10: BUENOS AIRES

Every journey ends. The stories stay with us.

All good things must come to an end, though we have a feeling this one will stay with you for a long time.

And if Argentina is calling you to stay a little longer, we’ll be happy to share our favorite places and travel tips to help you plan what comes next.

Until the next adventure, buen viaje, and thank you for being part of this journey with Alterra Journeys.

Meals included: breakfast.
